FEAR CLOSES DOORS

“FEAR CLOSES DOORS”

I believe this true in all aspects of life.

And, when it pertains to creating art, it is the difference between expressing yourself

and being unable to do so.

Find the time to … Try things out, to do … nothing.

It will all expand your mind

Others may use their time as they wish.

But this is your time, to do as you wish, it is not wasted

Feel free to enjoy it.

This painting of mine, (also on the gallery page)

“A Little Homage to Jackson”

is my representation of Jackson Pollocks

abstract expressionism.

It represents freedom, through freedom of movement.

The movement used creating the painting.

And the freedom of expression,

allowing your mind to be free whilst applying the paint.

I created this oil painting in layers of poured paint onto a pre-primed board.

Initially I used too many different colours and on close inspect you will find a light blue in some areas. After pouring each colour I would need to allow that colour to dry before applying the next. This took a little patience, but gave me time to assess how the painting was progressing. After each pour I could decide where and what colour needed to be added. OR perhaps it was finished.

The splashes of blue I feel give it more interest, and the painting for what I initially considered dark, gained a feeling of playfulness for one that uses colours that are not usually associated with fun.
